The chorus, as well as quartets and small groups are available to sing for special occasions at a modest, tax deductible fee. Any occasion is appropriate: cocktail receptions, corporate functions, birthdays, anniversaries, retirement, sporting event, holiday, or religious service.
The Long & Short of It
The Long & Short of It have been singing together since the summer of 2001. They are a registered quartet with Harmony, Inc. and were the 2003 and 2007 recipients of the Area 2 Jane Beale Memorial Award for most improved presentation scores. In April of this year they placed 2nd in the Area contest and qualified to compete at the International competition in Appleton, Wisconsin in November. This will be their 7th appearance on the International stage.
Trecia Pallman-Hamilton (Tenor) – Lives in Stowe with her husband Scott and two children, Paige and Aidan. Trecia is new to barbershop and joined the Barre-Tones chorus in 2006 and the Long & Short of It in 2007. You may recognize Trecia from her active participation in community theatre throughout Vermont. In her spare time, she is an Account Manager for Automatic Data Processing.
Barbara Cioffi (Lead) – Lives in Barre with her husband Ray. She has been teaching Physical Education at U-32 High School since 1978 and joined the Barre-Tones chorus in 1995. She serves as the Lead Section Leader for the Barre-Tones chorus and her great sense of humor makes sure the quartet is always having fun and somewhat “off task”.
Carol Hollenbeck (Bass) – Lives in Colchester and has been singing barbershop since 1993. In 2001 she joined the Barre-Tones as their new Musical Director. Carol is a Sales Representative for Lakeside Container out of Plattsburgh, New York. Always multi-tasking, Carol keeps LASOI striving for excellence.
Jane Watson (Baritone) – Lives in Barre with her husband Gary. She is an Assistant Director for the Barre-Tones chorus and a Baritone Section Leader. She teaches elementary school at Websterville Baptist Christian School and is a bundle of energy…hard to believe she has grown children! Needless to say, Jane keeps the quartet organized!

In Cahoots! In Cahoots! has been singing together since 2005. In April 2008 they won the Rae Borrer award for most improved quartet improving their performance score 85 points from the prior year's regional competition. Their performance landed them at International competition in November 2008. Contact Becky Senesac via email for more information regarding In Cahoots! Lisa Parro (Baritone) – lives in Duxbury with her family and works for the State of Vermont. Lisa is currently an assistant director for the Barre-Tones and has served many roles including director. She makes singing baritone look easy- though it is the most difficult part to sing! Susan Klein (Bass) – is the director of the Mad River Valley Chamber of Commerce and has lived in Fayston with her family for 20 years. She loves singing with her quartet and is a childhood friend of the Barre-Tones director - but she has promised not to tell tales. Becky Senesac (Lead) – is no stranger to quartet singing. She has been singing barbershop for many years and her powerful lead voice makes it easy for her quartet to sing with confidence. Becky lives in Shelburne with her husband and three children. Sue Nevins (Tenor) – is a Spanish teacher in the Randolph school system, Sue spends much time with her husband and dogs gardening and living the good life deep in the woods of Roxbury. Sue is a recovering baritone and is content in her new role as a tenor. |
